Why does my candle smell different before it's lit?
A candle's cold throw (the fragrance before lighting) can differ from its hot throw (the fragrance while burning). Once the wax melts and releases the fragrance oils into the air, the fragrance develops and becomes more noticeable.
This is all part of the unique experience of enjoying a beautifully crafted candle.
Can I burn my candle in any room?

How should I care for my candle?
To enjoy the very best performance from your candle:
- Allow the wax to melt evenly across the entire surface during the first burn to help prevent tunnelling.
- Trim the wick to approximately 5mm before each use.
- Burn for no longer than four hours at a time.
- Keep your candle away from draughts.
- Extinguish using a candle snuffer where possible.
- Allow the wax to cool completely before relighting or moving.
With the right care, your candle will continue to provide a clean burn and beautiful fragrance from beginning to end.
Why is my candle tunnelling?
Tunnelling occurs when the candle burns down the centre while leaving wax around the edges.
This is usually caused by not allowing the wax to melt fully across the surface during the first burn. The first burn is especially important as it creates the candle's "memory" and helps ensure an even melt pool for future uses.
Why should I trim the wick?
Keeping your wick trimmed to approximately 5mm helps maintain a steady flame, reduces soot and encourages a cleaner, more consistent burn.
How quickly will my order be dispatched?
We aim to carefully prepare and dispatch all orders as quickly as possible.
Orders are typically processed within 1–3 working days.
During busy periods, seasonal launches or promotional events, dispatch times may vary slightly.
Are candles safe around children and pets?
Candles should always be used responsibly.
Never leave a burning candle unattended and always keep candles away from children, pets, curtains and other flammable materials.
How do I know when my candle has finished?
For safety reasons, discontinue use when approximately 10mm of wax remains.
This helps prevent the container from becoming too hot and ensures safe enjoyment.
